Words Of Appreciation
Our agency frequently receives recognition for the care we have provided to a patient or someone’s loved one. Many tell us they don't have the words to describe their appreciation and simply say "Thanks." Below are comments and letters from patients and family members sharing their gratitude.
Hospice Patient's Heart's Desire Fulfilled with Helicopter Ride
Heartland Hospice serving Northwest Ohio worked with ProMedica Air and Mobile to help make their terminally ill patient, Nathan Herb’s, Heart’s Desire come true.
Nate always had a fascination with helicopters and shared his story with his hospice team. When he was younger, his family lived by ProMedica Memorial Hospital and whenever a helicopter took flight, he and his brother would run outside to watch. As he got older, Nate worked at ProMedica Memorial Hospital as a greeter.
“We are taking a flight on a helicopter through hospice. It’s always been something I wanted to do,” said Nate.
“It means a lot because when you’re down to the last parts of your life, those things that can bring you a little bit of joy you really need those moments so it’s always good to take advantage of that, so I’m glad I got to do that and people were gracious enough to make it happen, so…I’m really glad, it was really fun and I’m glad I did it.”

Hospice Care and Assisted Living Facilities Can Work Together
Hospice is a philosophy of care that provides physical, emotional and spiritual support. Hospice takes a team approach that incorporates not only health care professionals, but also the patient and their loved ones. Hospice focuses on improving the quality of living, improving comfort and providing an extra layer of support.
When working together with an assisted living facility, hospice can provide one-on-one care and assistance that can compliment the services that are offered the facility.
